It’s never been more important for biosafety professionals and institutions to submit questions! This webinar will begin with a brief presentation explaining the process. It will also encourage all shareholders to prepare to submit comments to the NIH to amplify the voices of biosafety in this process. This will be an interactive, open forum discussion without a formal panel. Participants can submit questions anonymously with their registration or live during the webinar.

In recognition of Biosafety Month, Applied Biosafety and the ILAR Journal have collaborated on a one-of-a-kind themed edition on worker safety when handling laboratory animals. Content of the ILAR Journal will be published online in October 2018 as articles become available.
To further promote animal biosafety, Applied Biosafety is providing free access to Volume 23, Number 3 through October 31, 2018.

For the fourth consecutive year, the NIH Office of Science Policy (OSP) has designated October as National Biosafety Month. The purpose of National Biosafety Month is to encourage institutions to refocus efforts related to biosafety and to undertake activities aimed at strengthening biosafety programs. Recently one of our members contacted NSF to inquire about the requirement for alarms on canopies attached to recirculating Biosafety Cabinets. We wanted to post this so members are aware of this coming requirement and can inform your administration, certifiers and other relevant personnel, in preparation for compliance with this requirement.
