Dr. Wooley will be expanding on the presentation she gave at the 2014 ABSA Conference.

Bio

Dawn P. Wooley, PhD, SM[NRCM], RBP, CBSP is an Associate Professor of Virology and Director of the Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She is a member of the NIH Recombinant DNA Advisory Committee. Active research includes studying the molecular evolution of AAV Vectors for anti-HIV gene therapy, viral vector biosafety, and the molecular mechanisms of HIV-1 mutation, recombination, and pathogenesis. As a postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Wooley studied retrovirology with Nobel Laureate Howard Temin at the University of Wisconsin Medical School from 1992 to 1995. She earned her Ph.D. degree in Virology from Harvard in 1992 and an honors B.S. degree in Microbiology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1986.
