The Chesapeake Area Biological Safety Association (ChABSA) is pleased to now offer remote viewing of all of our technical seminars. Earlier this year, ChABSA contacted several ABSA affiliates (within and outside of the US) to test our ability to effectively provide ChABSA Technical Seminar events to ABSA affiliates. Feedback from that test was excellent. For this reason we will now be extending all ChABSA Technical Seminars to ABSA affiliates via our remote viewing capabilities.
ChABSA has partnered with the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Managers (AHMP) Cyber Chapter to allow participants to view and participate in the technical seminar. If you believe that members of your ABSA affiliate association would be interested in viewing this event, please forward to your members as appropriate.
ChABSA’s next technical seminar information is posted below:
Thomas A. Nerad, MPH, PhD., Director,
Office of Biological Hazards, OSHA,
Directorate of Standards and Guidance, Department of Labor
Will Present on: “OSHA Regulations, Guidance and Employer Support Programs to Further Safety and Health in Laboratories”
Date: May 16, 2018; Estimated time of speaker presentation 7:15 – 7:30 EDT

Similar to other ABSA affiliated events, attendance to any ChABSA Technical seminar will count toward the Credentialing Maintenance (CM) Points For the Professional Biosafety Certification (RBP/CBSP) and other Professional Safety Certifications (CIH/CSP).
ABSA credentialing maintenance (CM) points for this event = 0.5 CU
